Twenty-six years is a long time not to be alive.
Since The Accident that ruined her life, Catherine has lived on autopilot, going through the motions of work and motherhood without being fully present. Trying to fill the gap, her adult daughter, Julia, is looking for love in all the wrong places, and wreaking havoc on the lives that she touches along the way.
Just what will it take to shock Catherine back into life?
The first line from the summary sold the book to me and I was convinced that I was going to enjoy it. The story-line or plot of the book is so intriguing and I enjoyed how Gail kept the pacing of the story throughout. Its not necessarily fast paced or slow which is great.
Yes, the characters in this book are so interesting and different. Gail paints a good picture for each character. I had to put the book down so many times in the beginning because I hated this other character. I hated the way he treated ladies, the way he spoke to them, he’s so controlling and it boggled my mind as to why they allowed him to do that. Apart from that, I enjoyed how different these characters were portrayed and how the supporting characters played a big role towards the story. Gail perfectly painted a picture in my head of all the characters making it easier to fall in love or hate them. The relationships were amazing, and relatable.
The ending was executed perfectly and the author tied everything together in the most amazing way.
Overall the book was amazing really loved it and I’d truly recommend it.
Those were my thoughts on this book and I’d like to know your thoughts if you’ve read it.
