“A person’s most useful asset is not a head full of knowledge, but a heart full of love, an ear ready to listen and a hand willing to help others.”
Owk this has taken me a very long time to do but here we go. I always think that whatever you need to do you just have to take that leap of faith and do it. You’d never be ready because you will always feel there is something to add, something to take care of. With that, it would always be difficult to be at a position where you feel everything is okay to do at that point in time.
So I decided to just do it even though in my head or planning I know I am not ready but I have an idea and I want to run with it without having the fear of something bad going on. Without rambling any further, let’s get to the gist of it.
From my get to know me post I did last year or so (check it here) I mentioned I did computer science and when I went to university I knew nothing about being a computer scientist. So it was engraved in me that I need to help other girls after me who are interested in STEM degrees to get information about their desired career paths. I know most of them have access to the internet now so getting information would not be a challenge at all. So I’d also like to contribute to that and allow them to choose STEM careers without being afraid. This would grow the number of women joining these paths.
So here we are, my plan for this segment is to have discussions about current events in different STEM fields, have interviews with women who have made it in the STEM career and are doing well for themselves. I can only talk about what I know or about anything related to computer science and information technology, yet I don’t want to neglect the other careers so I would have to get people who know more about those fields for interviews.
This is just an introduction for the segment, thus I’d really appreciate if you could leave in the comments sections some of the topics you’d like to see or would like to contribute, let me know, I am really open for any suggestions or ideas.
For us to get more engagement, please share with everyone who might be interested, if you have anyone from high school who is interested in the STEM career path do share with them so that we can distribute all this knowledge. Learning is something that never stops, I believe we’ll all be learning either way. We learn from each other no matter what.
