My Thoughts
Firstly, the recipes lived up to the name of the book which is amazing. One does not require a lot of ingredients in order to try out a recipe. These recipes are simple which is always a positive thing when looking for something quick.
While Ottolenghi’s steps are straight forward, his recipes need to be read carefully because most steps in his cooking methods contain multiple instructions which can easily be lost in the paragraph format. At a glance, a recipe may only have 3 or 4 steps but each step may reveal 5 or 6 things to do. In contrast, his list of ingredients are crystal clear, providing both the ingredient and what needs to happen to it.
The photographer did an amazing job capturing the dishes. Overall this cook is amazing and its a good Christmas gift for someone who loves cooking. I know I will gravitate towards this cookbook more because its packed with awesome recipes for different events.
There are many other dishes that appeal and I look forward to making all of them over time.
Below are some of the recipes I made for this review.
Beef Tomato Carpaccio
Sweet Potato Mash With Lime Salsa
Chicken Mabella
