Title: My Love Story || Author: Tina Turner || Published: 15 October 2018 || Genre: Biography, Autobiography || Pages: 314 || Imprint: Random House UK || Publicist: Anje Niemandt
Tina Turner—the long-reigning queen of rock & roll and living legend—sets the record straight about her illustrious career and complicated personal life in this eye-opening and compelling memoir.
From her early years in Nutbush, Tennessee to her rise to fame alongside Ike Turner to her phenomenal success in the 1980s and beyond, Tina candidly examines her personal history, from her darkest hours to her happiest moments and everything in between.
My Love Story is an explosive and inspiring story of a woman who dared to break any barriers put in her way. Emphatically showcasing Tina’s signature blend of strength, energy, heart, and soul, this is a gorgeously wrought memoir as enthralling and moving as any of her greatest hits.
Reading an autobiography can be tedious at times unless you are really interested in that author’s life. I think the writing is amazing and the story flows perfectly into place.
Tina Turner tells us her love story from a very young age and we get to experience the good and the bad that has come from her love story. I loved the images included in this book because images tells a good story and allows you as a reader to visualize what presented in a text format.
This story is relatable and it just broke me when she was talking about the abuse she had endured for many years in her previous relationship. But I got comfort from the way she escaped at the end.
Before I spoil anything about this book, I think you need to check it out if you are a fan of Tina Turner or just looking for an autobiography. It’s a fast paced book that is beautifully written.
