We all have have that one genre we tend to gravitate towards every time we buy new books or want to pick up something to read from our tbr’s. This weekend I realised that I don’t really have many genres on my bookshelf. Its not that the ones I read the most are more important than others rather that I haven’t given myself time to explore other genres. I decided to do some changes and today I wanted to share with you some of the book genres I don’t read often.
Currently, I read more of fantasy, self-help books, a bit of contemporary. I think most of us enjoy fantasy. There is something profound about, kings, queens, magic etc, that keeps drawing us towards the same types of books.
I’d like to change that as a I like a bit of variety on my reading so I want to expand my reading knowledge. So here are some genres I’d like to read more often.
This is one genre I enjoy a lot but I don;t get to read much of. This year I only managed to one book, which I enjoyed. I think I just need to find myself a few good ones to get me started.
If you know me, you’d think I read more of this genre as its mostly related to my career. But guess what, I don’t and have no specific reason behind that. Anyways, I plan to change that soon, I want to explore more of this genre.
I’ve never read anything from this genre and I think that is the reason why I haven’t read any because I have absolutely no idea what to get. I know I just need to go and buy one copy and read it, especially that its on my reading challenge this year.
Another category I’ve never explored at all. Its not that I get scared very easily and I watch horror movies a lot so I think I’d be fine. I guess its a matter of me finding the right book and try it.
Those are the genres I’d like to read more, if you have any recommendations, let me know.
