“Books and movies are like apples and oranges. They both are fruit, but taste completely different. —Stephen King

Today I am bringing you a list of books that are being adapted to movies in 2018. Usually, it’s difficult to fit in exactly what happens in a book within a 1-2hr period. But it is good to see how different books are adapted to movies, especially if that book is your favorite.

I find it really difficult to keep track of these adaptations throughout the year. Thus I decided to compile this list for reference purposes and I figured this might be of interest to you guys.

Here is the list:

A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I am yet to read this book and I plan to do that before the movie comes out. But the possibility of that happening is low as the movie is set to be released in March 09, 2018. This will feature Oprah, Reese and Mindy; whom I am so pumped to watch.

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens by Becky Albertalli (as Love, Simon)

I haven’t read this book and I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’ve been so hesitant about reading this book because of the hype, so I think I’m going to watch the movie.

Release date: 16 March 2018.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I’ve heard good things about this one as well and I would love to watch the movie.

Release date: March 30, 2018.

The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas

This is one adaptation I am super excited for, as this was my favorite read last year ( my review here).

Release date: TBD in 2018.

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys as Ashes in the Snow

All I know is that it’s a historical fiction book and I’ve heard amazing things about the author. I plan to read his books this year and I’m yet to read this one.

Release date: TBD in 2018.

To all the boys I’ve loved before by Jenny Han

This trilogy is at the top of my tbr pile this year and I am certain I’ll read this one before the movie comes out.

Release date: TBD in 2018.

I believe they are so many book adaptations for 2018, but those were the ones I am excited about.

Which of these book to movie adaptations are you excited to see? Please do let me know in the comments.

Until next time,

God bless you.

I think “The Hate U Give” has my attention. I haven’t read the book yet but I’ll get on it before the movie. One other adaptation I’m keen on reading before the movie as well is “Call Me By Your Name.”

  2. […] I know I’ve mentioned this book a lot, especially on my Instagram page. But anyways, its one of those books that stood out for me and I want everyone to read it. It follows the black lives matter movement, you can find my full review here. This book was optioned for a movie adaptation before it came out, so I am so excited to watch the movie (you can check out all the book to movie adaptations coming out in 2018). […]
