Hello book lovers!!
It’s been a hot minute since I posted a book review LOL. I did mention on my September wrap-up (here) that I might be busy this month as it’s my birthday month. I did not read anything for 3 weeks, which is bad LOL. Today, I am review the first book I completed this month (spoiler-free of course).
Title: Six of Crows
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Buy: here
Published: 2015
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult Fiction
SUMMARY
This book is set in a universe called the Grisha Universe. Six of Crows follows a heist by six people. The characters in this book are criminals and part of a gang. The leader of the gang is Kaz, who is the main protagonist. There are hired to perform an impossible heist for a lot of money, to break into the most secure place and retrieve a valuable hostage. The story follows each characters perspective as they are planing for the heist. The story is dark, magical, hilarious, dramatic, and romantic and action packed.
IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE GANG TO PERFORM THIS HEIST?
MY THOUGHTS
The writing style was great, especially in the aspect of describing the Grisha world. Information about the world is not revealed at once but bits and pieces are revealed as you go along reading, which prevented a lot of information overload and made it easier for me not to get lost in the story.
I really enjoyed the writing of this book, I felt like all the character’s perspectives were very unique and each of these blended perfectly with each other. The story was beautifully written.
All the characters were amazing and I it was easy for me to relate to their stories. The lead protagonists was amazing, a lot of mystery in each character. I was intrigued by the way the characters reacted to the different conflicts/complications they came into contact with.
I really enjoyed that, the background of the characters was revealed in bits and pieces throughout the book.
Overall, I was really intrigued and loved this book.
For me, the beginning of the book was a bit slow and I only started enjoying and getting to the book in the second part.
RATING
I ended up giving this book a 4.5/5 stars.
I absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it.
QUOTE
“Many boys will bring you flowers. But some day you’ll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won’t matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Only that boy earns your heart.”
